How To Buy Pixels

It's easy to get your image on to the front page advertising grid. Simply follow the step-by-step by instructions and you'll soon be on display for the whole world to see! If you're in a hurry to reserve pixel space, follow the Quick Start Guide. If you'd rather create a new account before reserving your advertising space (recommended), follow Option 2.

Option 1: Quick Start Route

  • Click on the Buy Pixels link
  • If you already have an account, log in with your Member's ID and password. Can't remember your password? Click on the Forgotten Password link and enter your email address.
  • As stated above, if you're new to the I Want A Volkswagen Bus web site, I recommend you create a new account before doing anything else. However, if you're desperate to reserve your pixel space, feel free to click on the "New users, start ordering your pixels here!" link. Note: if you go this route, you enter new account details later in the process.
  • Now you're ready to upload your image or logo. Skip down to the Option 2 instructions for further details. Come back when your image has been uploaded and you've clicked on the Ad Saved. Continue button
  • Once you've uploaded your image you ahould create an account and follow the validation process as per the Option 2 instructions.

Option 2: Recommended Create New Account Route

  • Click the Create a new account link.
  • Enter your personal details; first name, last name, business name (optional), member ID, password and unique email address. Click the Submit button to be taken to the New User Created screen.
  • Check your email for an Account Confirmation message and click on the Validation link to complete the sign up process.
  • If successful, you'll see a Validation Completed message. Now you can log in and buy some pixels!
  • Click the Log In link and enter your Member ID and password. The page may take a few seconds to load, but you'll shortly be redirected to your Member Account page where you can order pixels, view order history and manage exisiting pixels you may already have purchased.
  • For the purpose of these instructions, click on the Order Pixels link.
  • Hopefully you already have an image or logo prepared for upload to the I Want A Volkswagen Bus web site. If not, open up your favorite image software and get creative! Feel free to look at the existing images on the advertising grid for inspiration.
  • If you do have an image ready to go, click on the Browse button, navigate to the image file and click Upload.
  • Once uploaded, the image can be dragged with your mouse to the location of your choice on the grid. Note the red blocks represent pixels already purchased and displaying an image.
  • Release your mouse when you're happy with the image location and click on the Write Your Ad button. Here you can enter text to display underneath your image, a URL to associate with the image and also upload a second image to display when a visitor highlights your image with their mouse. This is a great opportunity to show off more of your web site, blog or other means of advertising. Please; no obscene, offensive or adult images as per the Terms & Conditions. When you're happy with the above, click on Save Ad and then the Continue button.
  • Now it's time for the tough part; Confirm & Pay. Click on the button and you'll be taken to Payment Selection screen. PayPal is the preferred payment option for the I Want A Volkswagen Bus web site. Click on the PayPal button to be securely transferred to their payment processing web site.
  • Once payment has been made and the order confirmed, approval has to be made by the web site owner before your image is processed and released to the grid. I aim to approve all images within 24 hours.
